CORK CITY COUNCIL

Cork marathon, Cork City

Entry Deadline Looms!

We’re heading for a record entry this year, with numbers up in all categories! We’re especially delighted to see our overseas numbers up substantially from previous years.

Closing date is this Friday, 11th May, so now’s the time to get your entry in.

The queries are coming in fast and furious, so please check out the information on entries or FAQs before you contact us. We will try to reply to all queries, so please be patient.

Please remember that we’ve pulled the start times back a half hour – 8.30am for the marathon and relay and 10.15am for the half.

For those looking for concession fees, we’ll accept paper entries received before Wednesday of next week (16th May), so don’t panic – just please get your entry into the post this week.

We’re expecting our delivery of shirts this week, so will have pics for you shortly. They are, we reckon, the nicest shirts we’ve had to date (and we’re proud of our previous shirts!). Some of us have been trialling the marathon shirt, in particular, and the material is just fantastic. Great wicking properties and a gorgeous lightweight, silky feel to it. More on that anon.

We’re awaiting the final artwork on the medals, but they’re going to be special too. We’re featuring ‘The Bells’, i.e. Shandon, on the marathon medal this year. It’s Cork’s most iconic building and it looks great on the medal. Will post images as soon as we get them.

We’ll update you here and on FaceBook more regularly over the next couple of weeks. In the meantime, a big thank you to everyone who’s already entered. We’re looking forward to welcoming you all on 3rd June!
