Travel - Getting to Cork
Cork is Ireland's second largest city, with a population of about 300,000 people. It is a port city, on the southern coast of the country and has major air, sea, rail and road links.
Air
Cork Airport provides air links with a wide range of Irish and European destinations. The airport is just 8km from Cork city centre and is serviced by taxis and a regular bus service. Bus Éireann provides a regular Air Coach service to and from Parnell Place Bus Station in the city centre throughout the week. Skylink provides coaches departing from Cork Airport every 30mins, connecting with over 30 city hotels, guest houses and city-centre locations.
A taxi from Cork Airport to the city centre will cost approximately €10– €15.
The major car-hire companies are represented at Cork Airport. Avis, Budget, Hertz, IrishCarRentals.com and Carhire.ie.

The point of entry from France is the ferryport of Ringaskiddy, about 15km from the city centre. Brittany Ferries operate a weekly connection to Roscoff in France from March through to October.
Currently, there is no direct sailing from Cork to the UK.

Bus:
