Getting Around
On Monday morning, 1st June, contraflows will operate in the Jack Lynch Tunnel, the Mahon Interchange and the South City Link (out-bound from the city end to the Turners Cross Slip road). You are still advised to use the Ring and Link roads. While your journey may take a few minutes more, traffic will be kept moving. There are no restrictions elsewhere on the Ring or Link routes.
The Blackpool Bypass will be closed from Thomas Davis Street int town from 8am to about 10.30pm. Motorists coming from the north are advised to use the North Link Road and exit further to the east.
All traffic north of the River Lee should return to normal after 12am, with the exception of the northern city quays.
While most areas of the city will be effected to varying extents, some residents will be extremely restricted from moving into or out of their estates. The areas most severely effected are:
- Castle Road, Blackrock
- Ballyphehane/Togher
- Model Farm Road
- Church Hill, Poulavone
If your area is particularly badly effected, please let us know (info@corkcitymarathon.ie). While it may be too late to alleviate it for this year, we'll certainly take your opinion into account for next year.
