Cork City Centre

The marathon begins on St Patrick's Street at 9am sharp. Between approx. 8.30am and 10am, Grand Parade, South Mall, Parnell Place and Merchant's Quay will be closed to all traffic. These streets will re-open once all competitors have safely passed. Traffic on Merchant's Quay will be severely restricted all day.

St Patrick’s Street will be closed to traffic all day.

Approaching the City from the EAST

Jack Lynch Tunnel, South Ring and Link Roads

Travelling from Dublin, Waterford, etc. the best advice is to use the South Ring and City Link roads. There will be a contra-flow in the tunnel until about 1pm, so traffic will move steadily. The Tunnel will be fully reopened by 1pm. There will also be a contra-flow on the South City Link Road, city end, until about 3pm, but traffic will be kept moving in- and outbound.

City Suburbs WEST

The Western Road (from Donovan’s Road to Victoria Cross) will be closed until 4pm.

Glasheen Road, from its junction with Hartland’s Avenue to Liam Lynch Park will be closed from 10am until about 4pm.

Traffic on the Wilton Road, from the roundabout to Dennehy’s Cross, will be controlled by the Gardaí.

The Model Farm Road will be closed until about 4pm.

The Carrigrohane Road will be closed from the junction with the R618 to Victoria Cross from 8.30am through to 4pm. Residents and visitors to the Kingsley Hotel will have assisted transit from the Gardaí.
