Sub 4 Hour Pacing Group 2022:
Name : Andrzej Chomicz
Club : Mallow AC
I run, eat, sleep and repeat. I don’t remember anymore, but I really like helping people with disabilities. I have been running since 2012 and my first marathon was in Cork 2013.
To date, I have run over 100 marathons.
In 2013 I ran around Ireland in 10 days – 1137km. I am very happy to be a Pacer in the Cork Marathon. I will try to give others a lot of fun on the run. Let the rest be a secret.
Name: Eamon Hayes
I ran my first race in 2011 which was the Cork City Marathon. Before that, I had never even run a race, not even a 5K. It was the Marathon or nothing for me. It was a bucket list thing to do so I basically did ‘couch to 5k’ and kept going. I got hooked and have never looked back. In recent years I’ve started to take it a bit more serious and my highlights so far have been running a 100K race in Portumna and last year I ran the London Marathon which was amazing and got a PB of 3 hours 11 minutes too.
My future targets are to train harder and try to break 3 hours and to run a 24-hour race too at some stage. One of the most enjoyable parts of running marathons is pacing. I’ve paced Cork, Limerick, East Cork and Dingle Marathons and really really enjoyed them all. The banter in the pacing group is great and it’s brilliant to try to help people reach their goals. Pacers such as Team Grozzy have helped me hugely over the years so it’s great to give something back to the sport that has given so much to me.
